From oven to table . . .
I pre-planned an EB deciding to blip today’s Sunday dinner.
We normally have a roast of some sort on a Sunday, but recently Mrs W’s appetite is so small (heaven knows where she gets the calories from) that a good sized lump of meat is ample for both of us without the eating up the lamb or beef etc for the rest of the week.
I do like to be adventurous in my cooking, ‘Bung It’ being my favourite genre, but sometimes I like to be inventive. Today it was ‘le pork gratin de Johnsy with cider’. Thick pork steak, browned off in the pan then garnished with garlic and stilton then slow cooked in cider with tomatoes and mushrooms, served with asparagus, baby broad beans and Jersy potatoes.
I spent most of the day recovering from yesterday’s over indulgence (as reported on yesterday’s blip posted this morning), and we had a very quiet evening.
