Return of the frogs

We have known for a week or two that there are two small frogs in the pond this year, but this is the first time one has been visible properly among the weed and not spooked by a human “hunter”. There are also newts, but they are much harder to spot - just a flash of tail near the surface occasionally.

This frog and its sibling are much smaller than the original “Fred” and “George” who inhabited our first pond many years ago, and much more skittish.
