Opening Day

A very successful first day of the Butterfly House season. 
Our special guest was Kemik, the mascot for Widnes Vikings Rugby League team. He was a great hit with the kids and despite the showery weather we had nearly 400 visitors in 2 hours. 

His name harks back to when Widnes was at the centre of the chemical industry and when I was a child, the rugby team was at its most successful and had the nickname The Chemics.
