Through the Window
WE are v very fortunate to have an old paddock behind our house which has been allowed to grow wild and at this time the year is covered with tall blades of grass. This is an excellent habitat for the local roe deer to graze and to give birth. Quite regularly most years we see a couple of mating deer in the paddock and then some months later are able to see the mother with her young fawn. At the moment there is a pregnant female spending most of her time in the paddock prior to giving birth. I tried to show this looking through our dining room windows (actually glass doors which open onto our deck). Unfortunately the deer in question is right in the middle the paddock so quite difficult to see so I have included an extra which zooms right in on the deer.
