Gachapon

I was astonished at how many capsule toy machines there are in shops here. Aisles of them. I usually associate these type of machines with small children but here they appear to appeal to a wider age range. I'm not sure what they all contain but given I've just been in a store which has 9 floors of animé and manga I'm assuming that takes up a fair share. Apparently the capsules and the vending machines are referred to as gachapon and it's a multi billion yen industry. More little pieces of plastic waste.
