Agios Petros Tower

Penultimate day in Greece and the last day of walking in the Cyclades. The wind dropped to a gentle breeze which enabled us to complete the circuit from our accommodation to the port of Gavrio passing the the ancient, 200 BCE, tower. There were copper mines in the area, worked until the 1950s, and the tower was used to protect the mine workers from pirates.

A picnic lunch in Gavrio and we went our separate ways to spend the afternoon swimming from idyllic beaches, and having a last Andros beer in the taverna we have dined in for several nights.
