Wreck
We took one look at the Tintagel crowds and went to seek sanctuary in the church of St Materiana.
In the foreground, marked by a life buoy, is the grave of 14-year-old cabin boy, Domenico Catanese, who tragically perished on 20 December 1893, when a ship called the Iota was driven against a cliff at Tintagel. All of the crew apart from Domenico managed to scramble onto Lye Rock where they were later rescued.
