NZ Spring 2024

A day on the boat

As the boat was parking docking on the morning to drop people off for a couple of tours of which neither appealed to as and as the boat was sailing to a different spot to pick them up again we went for the cruise.
The Blip is the entrance to the Iron Gate Gorge which leads to the Iron Gate Dam and locks.

We passed a monastery and a face carved into a rock face his identity is carved below the face.
The lock was interesting in that a road passed over the end of it and the gate rose to but against the underside of it, the water level dropped some 60 feet to the level of the second lock that took us down to the river level but by this time we were having dinner and it was dark.

Next stop, Bulgaria.
