The Staffordshire Hoard

We took our two grandsons to the local museum. The Staffordshire Hoard was discovered by a metal detectorists in 2009. It consists of over 4000 pieces of Anglo Saxon gold and silver. It was buried sometime in the 7th century.
The rather poor quality photograph above, taken by me, shows several "bits and pieces" of the hoard. Being buried in a field for around 1400 years has taken its toll.
The extra, (not taken by me), shows some of the delicate work in the better preserved items.
