Komatsuna

This beauty is more fruits of our labours, this time from the greenhouse rather than the allotment. It is a variety of komatsuna, which is a leafy form of wild turnip. I have to say it's very tasty - I know often lettucey type things are a bit bland, but Pete has sown lots of different sorts of leaves which always perk up our salads.

Less good is that slugs appear to have got into the greenhouse, a couple of the beans I potted up yesterday were completely stripped of leaves by today. So we have lined it and put non-toxic pellets down, and reinforced the copper tape round the pots. Death to slugs!

In other news, well done Andy Murray, winning Wimbledon today. Hooray!
