The King

We made use of our English Heritage membership and went to Wellington’s Arch and Wellington’s London home, Apsley House both of which are at Hyde Park Corner.

Spotted the Royal cars going through the arch when we were up on top of it. Presumed the King was off out doing something.
Enjoyed our visit to both places then walked down Constitution Hill.

As we walked by Buckingham Palace, police stopped traffic, whistles were being blown all of which signalled that a royal bigwig was coming.
And here he came, the King, returning from his outing.
I’ve seen him as Prince Charles but it was the first time seeing him as King. And we didn’t even have to wait.

Walked to Victoria, lunch in Pret then Victoria Line home.

Good day, lots of steps, learned a bit of British history and saw the monarch.
