Through the Placa de Liberdade, over the road and that's all I'm saying. This beautiful building which few enter and even fewer go straight through. But how can you resist that sea calling you?

A lesser known cafe with half loungers, a little cooling drink and a moments peace.

We took the public ferry to Almada and on up to the Cristo Rei (Christ the Redeemer) statue and the Jardim Botanico which had the best views of Lisbon. Again, we had escaped the hoardes who were in glittery Shake it Off mode.

We had booked a sunset cruise. Cynic that I am, I was very unsure, but it was so nice to stay away from the crowds. I was fascinated by the docks. I do love industrial scenes.
