You can probably guess what happened next!

This little Greylag gosling decided not to follow the rest of the family from the loch and up through the rather dense foliage. It was much more exciting to scramble over the rather large rocks ...... things got a little tricky and the wee gosling fell into the hole.

Mum was a bit concerned and came over to the hole but there was really nothing she could do. The wee one tried jumping up but couldn't quite make it to the top of the rock.
I even contemplated reaching down to lend a hand but it wasn't necessary ...... one last mighty jump and it landed on the rock. I was so thrilled that I forgot to take a final photo.

The extra shows that there were two mountaineers desperate to reach their family.
