Unexpected sight

While taking one of my usual walks along the riverbank I noticed through a gap in the trees that in the field on the opposite bank there were masses of yellow Irises which had come into flower. This pic covers only a fraction of the total area. A cloudy cool morning with a cold wind, but after lunch the sun broke through at times but the wind remained strong.
