Leaving Ramsbottom

I woke up late, 09.35 with a sore throat & runny nose, having had a cough for a few days, it was somewhat unexpected:-/

Had to dash out of the house in double quick time, an appointment for contact lens consultation at Specsavers in Bury at 10.20,
just made it!

Who knew you could have varifocal contacts?! They are on order, 10 pairs to trial free of charge….. so we shall see, literally lol. I also collected my prescription sunglasses, very happy with them :-)

I called into the bank & post office, then drove back and down into Ramsbottom for what has become a weekly treat, a coffee & bacon barn, with brown sauce in DRiNc which is a lovely little cafe right beside the level crossing.I always sit up in the window so i can people watch…… that’s when I spotted the sign outside the station saying Steam Trains running today :-))

Purchased a Platform ticket for £2 & had a leisurely cuppa, courtesy of the Station master with a little sponge drop cake to go with it, very nice it was too!

I’m very lucky to live so close to the East Lancs Railway, don’t think I’ll ever tire of seeing the steam trains coming & going.

once home back to reality, managed to cut all 3 lawns just before the rain came, but the grass was so very wet, the mower left large clods of wet grass everywhere as it couldn’t ’suck it up’ ……. it had to be done though as it was really long & im away from tomorrow until week Monday :-/
