St. Francis Has a New Look
John gave St. Francis a good scrubbing and he is looking as good as new, gleaming white in the sunshine. The Goldfinch Yellow False Indigo will look spectacular when it reaches full bloom in a few days and the Iris, when they all bloom, will have St. Francis standing in a sea of blue. Those are the highlights of this part of the garden. The low lights are the damn dear deer have decimated a lot of the surrounding bits. It was such a sorry sight. They ate the hosta, and the shasta daisies mostly but sampled several other plants. I hope the plants can recover in time and the deer find another dinner location. I am off today to visit Tomten Farm and Sanctuary in NH to bring my donation to the June 10th anniversary celebration. It's a nice day and I will get a personal tour of the farm. I've been supporting their wonderful rescue operations for nearly their 10 years and it will be great to see how they have expanded to provide, as they say, "peace, protection and possibility" for animals in need.
