Another drumming blip

Having had Eben with us for a couple of days, today was a chance to catch up with Luca.  Now that he's at preschool on Mondays, we still see him during the week, but usually only for brief pick-ups rather than longer stretches.
We had a lovely relaxed time. We played a few games, built a marble run and enjoyed some time in the garden.  Luca made a 'potion' in a bucket, with rose petals and other bits and bobs,  while I dead-headed roses and did a bit of weeding.
He also elected to spend a bit of time drumming. When I noticed him singing bits of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to himself while he played, I asked him whether he'd like Richard to play along on the guitar. The answer was yes, and it was very sweet to watch them both.
Ruth and Josh are ready to have the drum kit over at their house, in Eben's bedroom.  This will give Eben a proper sense of ownership, I think, as well as making it much easier for him to play when he wants to. I know that Josh likes to play too.  So we'll move it over soon.
I can't let the day pass without noting Donald Trump's conviction on all charges of falsifying business records in New York. Unfortunately it just feeds into his narrative about victimhood, and he continues to fan the flames of division in the US still further. But it's the right decision by a brave jury. I dread what the November election may bring.
