Mirror, mirror .....
Going to the Venice biennale is a bit like going to the Fringe at the Edinburgh festival. There is no way you can see everything. We decided to spend our day at the Giardini which houses the main pavilion and those of individual countries.
We arrived at just before 11 and left just before 5 headed towards exhaustion. Some stunning stuff, lots of curious stuff, much mystifying stuff and everyone seemed to have a video! Tools lots of shots so much to look back on.
The UK pavilion was great - bit of nostalgia around a UK tour of David Bowie, bit of social commentary around shooting hen harriers on a royal estate, bit of commentary concerning what should be done which the yachts of Russian billionaires. Superb video with a steel band backing track. And a real cup of tea to refresh. Nice touch.
The shot I'd from the coffee bar which presented its own visual challenge. We're in there somewhere.
