Lonesome Bee

A chilly wind and grey skies made the day feel more like February. I spotted just this one red-tailed bumblebee in the garden.

This morning the entire Northampton twn centre was cordoned off as there was a large fire in the derelict Angel Hotel on Bridge Street. In September 2023 there was a similar fire, in the same building and Bridge Street (a major access road) was closed pending demolition. That didn't happen for some complicated legal reason. I wonder how much longer the business owners nearby will have to wait for action from our ineffective council.
