The Dump

Posting on Friday the 31st for Thursday the 30th.

I was so darned busy today I barely had time to think! I completely missed posting on Blip. We did three dump runs today - two of construction debris and one landscape debris. It takes about a half hour to get to the Roseburg dump from Glide so it’s a rather time consuming task.

We saw this quite amazing machine at the dump, along with what looked like a much newer model. I looked it up and discovered that it’s called a Caterpillar Waste Compactor. A used one costs more than a half million dollars! That’s my big blip for today!

When we got back to the house (that’s being renovated by MrWk) I swept the floors and cleaned the shelves in closets in preparation for painting. And when it became evident that the helper for the week was having trouble masking various doors and windows and such for spray painting, MrWK taught me how and we finished that up. Another trip to Home Depot to buy a new paint sprayer since the old one died…and finally he started the spray painting which went on until at least 9:45 pm. Following a shower, we fell into bed, exhausted. The life of a contractor’s assistant :-)
