St Andrews

What a great day out we had.

Left around 8:30 for the hour’s drive to St Andrews. We thought the first nice sunny day we would take Lucca for her first time on a beach.

First though we stopped at a lovely Cafe and Store called Spoiled Life which was just next to the great bookshop Toppings. We got a lovely welcome from the owner . Unfortunately there were no seats left downstairs but there was upstairs . I explained that Lucca is a bit awkward with stairs as she hasn’t encountered them before. We tried to take her up but as they were also open stairs she wasn’t having it. A young student in the nearby seat packed her laptop up and went upstairs and we got her table. Very nice of her.

The coffee was excellent as expected as it was in the Good Coffee Guide for Scotland we had bought a few weeks ago. We had a good chat with the owner and he told us he opened five weeks before the lockdown……. All worked out and they are doing well.

Off we walked next to the beach and walked fur her than we had before. It was fabulous, not much wind but waves were crashing in. Met lots of people with their dogs of all shapes and sizes . Lucca must have wondered what was happening but she enjoyed it but didn’t venture into the sea. Breagha was the opposite . A bee line would have been made straight into the water and also digging in the sand .

There was a massive American military plane practising take off and landing , that was interesting to see.

After a few hours we walked back. I felt a bit light headed and had to send S off for chocolate and more water I felt a bit faint. Usually pack snack for this very reason but forgot . Sat at a bench watching all the golfers go out, it was v busy and recovered.

We headed home and stopped of at Balgove for something for the tea and had a roll and a cuppa sitting outside.

Ben was here for tea again. The opening night was last night and seemed to go well.

Watched the last few episodes of White Lotus and that was the last day of May.
