22nd… Boulogne
A dry but cloudy day.
First stop was the aquarium. Fantastic, could have spent longer there taking it all in. Then off to a boulangerie outside of Boulogne. The children were split into two groups . One half went with a lady who informed them, in French, how bread is made and the importance it is to French daily life. The other half were with a chap learning about croissants. A right old character who had a wooden stick and would crash it down on any surfaces to make the children jump…. All done in jest and 99% of the children found it funny.
From there it was back to the old town for a wander and the children could spend some money on cheap tack at a stall outside a shop. A visit to the basilica, a walk along the walk before waiting for the coach.
The sun had come out when we returned to our hotel and the children played a scavenger hunt. They had a list of French things they needed to find. Dinner, free time before showers and bed.
