Club de l’Amitié

I spent some time in the market exchanging news with people I knew. Later in the morning there was the official opening of improved premises at the Club de l’Amitié. The president gave a 20 minute speech followed by the mayor, followed by a regional councillor, followed by a departmental councillor. Consequently, it took nearly 50 minutes before the ribbon was cut. That is pretty much par for the course at this sort of event! There is an open afternoon with the local choir and a display of all the activities available in the club and the local Sardane dancers. We will be bell ringing later in the afternoon, but I will have to leave early to attend a prizegiving dinner with the departmental tennis committee.
