Viagra and runner beans
A typical West Highland coastal day today - sunshine from beginning to end!!
My nephew and his wife set off at 9am on the journey back to London, and we went down town to buy fish, as has became the Saturday norm. I popped into Homebase to buy some tall bamboo canes, for my runner beans growing on the deck.
It was warm when we got home, so we spent some time sitting out on the deck in the sun until it got too hot. I sat the thermometer beside me in full sun - 41 degrees! You lucky people living somewhere where it occasionally rains!!
After lunch I filled another tub with compost and planted my remaining two runner bean plants in it. I now have 5 tubs spread out along the deck and I put three canes in each, tied to the deck rail - my Blip today. With luck we won't be short of runner beans this summer!
We sat out again later on - I began a new book, 'Battersea Girl', the story of a woman who was born in Battersea in 1888 and died there in 1988. Very interesting, especially for Londoners. I've just finished 'Billy Connolly's Route 66', riding from Chicago to Los Angeles on a trike - a motor trike in case you were wondering! Very entertaining.
Quote of the Day: 'Forget Viagra, get yourself a trike!' — Billy Connolly.
