Not an Eagle

The Manchester  hotel that we were staying in after last night's show was full of other people who were there for the Eagles gig, and the conversation over breakfast was universally about what a great concert it had been.

The journey back south from Manchester wasn't any more difficult than usual - there were moments of stopped traffic and moments of crawling traffic, but we eventually made it back home without incident.  

Now back home, here's a shot of a chaffinch in the grass under the feeders.  Meanwhile at the pond, I found the exuvia of a 3rd Southern Hawker, that must have emerged whilst we were away. I'm starting to think that the absence of damselflies emerging this year might have rather more to do with the voracious Southern Hawkers than the newts ...
