Cragside

I've seen all your blips from Cragside, the original smart home. I've learnt about it from features in many TV programmes but I hadn't realised that it's just 11 miles from where we're staying. As a result, I can give you a day off from castles and seascapes and show you a couple of images from there. 

It's been a gorgeous day for the first day of summer and the light was far too bright and contrasty to be good for photos. Down by the Debdon Burn it was a little easier to control the light so both images are from similar viewpoints.

It was only a short visit but I found it to be a lovely place. The rhodedendrons are probably at their best at the moment so I'll hope to visit again and take Marian with me. When I left I took the 6 mile carriage drive route out of the estate. A very enjoyable afternoon!
