It was a perfect afternoon for a walk along the lane with views towards the hills to the south and across the Forth to Fife and distant mountains to the north. Masses of cow parsley and other flowers lined the way with the sound of skylarks filling the air while many other birds sang in the woods - very peaceful and only the sounds of nature. It is rare to meet anyone on the five mile route except during lock down when people walked, and today the only person seen was a man and his dog about half a mile from home. The warm sun continued to shine into the evening so it was ideal to continue gardening until the sun went down. Summer has arrived but not for long according to the forecasts.
