Midhowe Broch - Rousay
A threshold and view that has been appreciated for millennia. This 2000yr old Broch was repurposed to form the central building for an iron-age village. Whilst we look at this superb construction with awe, next door is a huge chambered tomb that is over 5000yrs old.
The island of Rousay is nicknamed the ‘Egypt’ of the north for its wealth of tombs, brochs and archaeological remains.
