Mute Swan and Nest
Very unusual in these parts is the Mute Swan although of course they are the dominant ones in Ireland. Here in Finland though the dominant one is the whooper and if you ever heard one hollering you would know why.
We came across this nesting pair of Mutes today. If you look carefully you will note s bent twig curving upwards to the left and seemingly coming out of the centre of the front of the nest. If you look even more carefully you may be able to make out one of the two eggs just behind this twig.
