Shades of Blue

Annecy makes the most of it's blue hues.

Today we had a little sunshine and its was warm by the lake. However, it soon clouded over and we were heading for the top of the Semnoz. Everyone ascended well, but were met by the view that you get from inside a cloud anywhere - whiteout.

Never mind, riding in the mountains is often like this. Most riders enjoyed the somewhat blind descent and discovered just how cold it can be! It was still great fun though, and as the photograph shows, we were out of the clouds by about half way down.

For the record, we rode the behind the direction this photo was taken : tomorrow the climb is away from Annecy and traverses left to right across the mountain in the photo at about the current cloud base.

I'm travelling home today after being lead rider today. Currently in Geneva airport waiting for the flight to Manchester.
