New Shoots. Leitz Telyt-V 280mm

My foray out with the big tele lenses yesterday reminded me what fun it is to use these beautiful old objectives from the '60s and '70s.  This does not imply that they're easy to use: they're heavy, the focus ring has a long range of travel to allow for fine adjustment, and the depth of field is tiny.  Only the "smallest", the 200mm, can be accurately focused while hand held.  Really, they need to be mounted on a tripod.  That's what I did today to capture a portrait of our pine tree showing off its new shoots beautifully lit by the late afternoon light.
