Royalty in Christchurch.

We had a Public Holiday today- Kings Birthday. My grandson has caught Covid so is feeling miserable. I went and sat in the sun and watched the “ goings on” at the airport. The sun was lovely and warm. This monstrous plane ( Globemaster) came from its base in Cairns to pick up some Ghurkas who have been doing an “ exercise “ in Tekapo.
The story goes, they didn’t want to leave Chch as they were loving it. Not sure how correct that is, but it’s been here 3-4 days, with no signs of leaving. Not sure if they go back to UK, or are based elsewhere.
