Flat Rock is a wave-cut rock platform, 3 or 4 km south of Lennox Head. Its basaltic rock was created by the erupting Tweed Volcano (Mt Warning) around 22 million years ago. I visited at low tide this morning, at the same time as a group of school children and their teachers. As a one-time teacher, I was pleased to see that the kids were busy with learning activities, and enjoying the experience.
