MONO MONDAY - SOMETHING SPORTY

...well it had to be something to do with Mr. HCB because I am not remotely sporty!

Then, the decision was either football or cricket, and as Mr. HCB  has lots of his late cricket buddy, Keith’s, cricket books, it was a no-brainer, as they say.

I’m sure when the winter comes and he can’t get out into the garden, many of these books will be read or at least browsed and no doubt many memories of Keith will come flooding back.  All these, except the 2010 Wisden, belonged to Keith and after he died, his son, Graham, asked Mr. HCB if he would like to have all his Dad’s cricket books - well, that was another no-brainer so Mr. HCB is now the proud possessor of all these great books.  I have put an extra in to show them in full technicolor!

For those who aren’t familiar with cricket and for your information, Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, or simply “Wisden”, colloquially the Bible of Cricket, is a cricket reference book published annually in the United Kingdom. The description "Bible of cricket" has been applied to Wisden since the early 1900s.

We often speak of Keith, especially when going down the Motorway to Bristol, where they regularly went to follow “their team”, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club,  and at many other times too.  Some people leave a mark on your life and Keith was certainly one of those on our lives - not just Mr. HCB’s.
