For what it’s Worth…

…is anyone else old enough to remember comedian Harry Worth and his trademark ‘window’ pose? If not then I’m afraid that this photo may be lost on you.

M and I had a splendid day out at Burghley House near Stamford today. The house itself was amazing and stuffed to the brim with amazing artwork, furniture and ceramics. The room guides (and in fact all the staff there) were really friendly.

We enjoyed lunch in The Orangery restaurant and then toured the gardens. The ‘Garden of Surprises’ was fascinating, lots of quirky water features and sculptures. One of the ‘surprises’ was the mirror maze, which prompted this spontaneous performance of Harry Worth’s signature pose.

A lot of walking today, so feet up with a cup of tea now.
