WRYBILL Anarhynchus frontalis
At this time of year a few wrybill and Banded Dotterel come into our Estuary. The breed here in the Canterbury river beds and usually migrate to Auckland for the winter but a few come in to the estuary on the way. This is one of the tiny little fast running/feeding birds that are a bit shy. Happy to piut this one up for today - I always love to see them darting around the estuary.
