Blooming wild roses

Listening to a Ted talk while on my daily walk I stumbled across this one: Does Education Kill Creativity by Sir Ken Robinson.
He points out that our educational system was developed in the 19th century to train a workforce for the factories.
It’s still the same. 
Is this system suitable for a world in which we have no idea what we are creating in five years’ time let alone 100 years.
 
I loved this nugget of information 
If all the insects in the world disappeared in 50 year’s time there would be nothing at all. If humans disappeared in 50 years’ time the planet would be flourishing.
