Long shadows

I am posting with a mixed bag of feelings today.

The thrill of the highest number of ratings, hearts, and best comments for my picture yesterday was offset by the news of ChaiseLongue's unexpected passing on saturday morning.

I had never met her in person -- though we'd planned an encounter for my next trip to France where I was considering repatriating. We had exchanged information about that offline and Teleri was as helpful in that context as she was kind in her blip commenting. It is strange how a virtual relationship can feel so substantive and how its loss is so real.

Farewell my friend: you loved the deep shadows of Southern France. Today's blip is for you.
