Today's Lesson Is.....

No, I'm not going to feed you, kid......you're on your own now. Tough love, crow style.

The juvenile put up a fuss but the adult didn't give in and actually flew off. The kid looked a bit shocked but followed along, just like he was supposed to do.

For me the lesson learned was that juvenile crows have red mouth lining. I saw a couple the other day and thought something was wrong and that they were bleeding. And yes, for one brief moment I wondered how I could fix them. "Birds of the Puget Sound Region" to the rescue. There on page 257 was all the information I needed. Whew! Not sure how I would have handled that.
