It was a very enjoyable day with bright sunshine as we took our guests to see some of the area around Jedburgh. We discovered a new tearoom serving delicious home baking and a little garden centre, visited Monteviot Gardens near Ancrum, had delicious ice cream at Harestanes and had a wander around Jedburgh with its abbey and Mary Queen of Scots House which is a museum devoted to the queen who visited. She stayed there for a month when she was very ill and among the exhibits are a shoe and watch which was discovered in a bog 250 years later.
