Iguana Hold Your Hand

What a fabulous day!  We went out in the Zodiac this morning at Isabella Island and spotted lots of bird life (Blue Footed Boobies, Pelicans, Swallow Tailed Gulls, Nazca Boobies), some Marine Iguanas, and some Fur Seals.  We also admired quite a lot of very interesting volcanic geology.

This afternoon we took a hike on the lava-laden island of Fernandina.  We saw so MANY Marine Iguanas (collective name for them?  a Mess!), sea lions, Sally Lightfoot Crabs, Racer Snakes, Lava Lizards, a Hawk, Great Blue Heron, a multitude of bleached bones and skeletons of Marine Iguanas who died last year because the temperature was so high the algae they subsist on died off.  I'm happy to report the Iguanas seem to have bounced back, because it was quite challenging to walk amongst them, there were so many!
