Jimmy, Dad, and Timmy
My brother Jimmy and his wife Joy are up here from Florida, but I have felt too sick to be able to see them. But when they announced that they were going to visit Dad, we were determined to be there.
One of the hard things about visiting my dad is that he struggles to hear, and there are only so many spots on the couch next to him.
Jimmy and dad like to talk music, and once in a while I can contribute. They were both blessed with the gift to play instruments, but not me.
It's been a real thrill for me since I've retired to spend time with Jim and Joy in Florida. While we do have the same dad, we don't have the same mother, and didn't see that much of each other growing up.
I love being around them now. Both are giving people, and both love to enjoy life.
P.S. Don't even think about calling me Timmy. Only late Grandma Jewel and a few other select people can get away with it.
