Usher Hall
Out for a walk in the morning round the nice parts - Canonmills, Stockbridge and Comely Bank, scouring the second hand bookshops. Ending in Waitrose, which is a bit of a rarity since their car park has been closed for a month. I bought some essentials - deodorant, wet wipes and a bottle of rum. Well, I’ve an upcoming holiday.
Then a couple of hours tending to some peas that I strung up against the new fence. The bindweed is already on their case. And further digging of the putative vegetable bed. Putative is just about OK, I think. I mean, there aren’t actually any vegetables in there so it could be debated.
A sit in sunshine before we hauled ourselves off to see Sheffield’s finest, Richard Hawley. Crooner and guitar head. A cracking gig - with an unexpectedly terrific support - one John Smith, singer songwriter and guitarist a la John Martyn. John Smith though, eh? He’s going to struggle making a name for himself.
