A 40 min delay (roadworks) hitting the M25, and a closed M6 meant a six hour trip took over seven (wee stops included) but we did get here as the sun came out, and only about an hour later than planned. I love the Lakes so I was happy regardless. Himself was a bit more trepidatious. He'll be ok tomorrow.

Slightly annoyingly (as in it wouldn't have stopped us coming) the hotel is having its roof fixed and we have scaffolding outside the window bit the view is still very impressive.
