Day 1

Came across on the shuttle this afternoon and drove as far as Quend Plage, stopping to shop for some of the food we're not allowed to bring over (e.g. milk!) en route. Walked down to the seafront - the town always seems deserted* but there are often sand yachts and kite surfers in action on the beach. There was a strong onshore wind, blowing sand up into the street, and all the action was in the hazy distance. Might have walked further in other conditions, but not tonight, so the Blip is a hastily edited on tablet, minimalist view of the beach to the north of the town.

* to be fair, we've never been here "in season" - as a seaside resort it must get busier during the summer!
