Bird's egg

This bird's egg appeared in the garden overnight. We don't know where it came from, but the internet says we should leave it alone. So that's what we're doing (apart from photographing it).

We don't know what kind of bird it belongs to. It is about 1 3/4" long. It is white with the odd speckle.
