Life in a Northern Town

Reflection

This was prompted by the death of chaiselongue, a Blipper who inspired, and was loved by many. I didn't know her, I had just stumbled across her journal a few times over the last few months and enjoyed its variety and thoughtfulness. It made me sad to hear she had died so suddenly, but she has left so much of herself behind in her journal.

So yesterday, what an incredible day it was and what a moment when Murray lost those first three match points! Many bitten down nails and much pacing around and watching through fingers across the land. I am sure we all felt relief as much as anything, and I hope that now he's done it his career will go from strength to strength. The amount of mealy-mouthed nonsense about his nationality is thankfully minimal today - let's just celebrate the young man's achievement.

The photo was taken at Blackmoorfoot Reservoir at 9am, it's now far too hot for a black dog to be out and about in the sun; she's not happy in the heat, wouldn't even jump up onto the bed this morning, but she is afraid of the paddling pool. Daft mutt will happily jump into 50 feet of freezing water in a reservoir, but 6 inches of nice clean water in the back garden is terrifying.

Enjoy your day, so sorry for anyone stuck inside.
