What a day.
Near gale force winds. Bitter wintry squalls.
Plan A B + C deployed. D + E currently being invented! 
All credit to the team. Up and out before 8 as requested to try and get a bit of paddling before it got *too* wild. 
And it was wild. Big following waves that had both ends of tandem loaded canoes 2 ft clear of the water wild. I was very much enjoying the steep surfs but keenly aware of being in a genuinely serious environment with genuinely very inexperienced young people and some fairly inexperienced supporting teachers on the land. 
Off the water and then an afternoon of much logistical faff and torturous waiting for kids to come up with new routes. 
With an excellent plan E sorted and kids safely in camp, not gonna lie, I popped home for a shower and tea, for half an hour of decompressing!
