An indulgent treat

We have decided to put our house of 20 years up for sale and a few days ago we asked an estate agent to give us a valuation. The house was fine she said but then unsurprisingly told us that the garden 'needed a little attention'.

Neither myself or my OH are keen gardeners and besides the odd mow of the lawn when the grass reached our ankles, very little had been done with it for the past couple of years.

We have spent all weekend in the searing heat clearing, chopping, digging and weeding. I'm pleased with everything we have achieved but feel a little sad to realise that it probably looks the best it has for years and we are about to leave it.

Anyway, after all the hard work I treated myself to this beautiful blue hydrangea to act as a focal point in the courtyard area. I've lusted after one of these for years but never had a garden worthy of displaying such a beautiful specimen. And the beauty is, as I've kept it in a pot it will come with us to our new home and hopefully be enjoyed for years to come.
