The Bargeman
It was very hot in Guildford this morning and it was slow trudge for me from shop to shop. I managed to find all that I went for and was home in time for lunch.
Before I left Guildford I went down to The Town Quay at the foot of the steep High Street. A quiet spot now, it was originally a busy wharf for loading goods onto barges on the Godalming Navigation. The only person there today was this jolly bargeman who had been presented by The Guildford Society for The Millennium.
